Turkish Leader EmlakJet Starts Portfolio and Commission Sharing System for Agents

The Turkish real estate portal EmlakJet has introduced a portfolio-sharing system for its real estate agent customers.

In the Turkish market, agents regularly connect with one another to share their portfolios and share commissions. However, according to EmlakJet CEO, Tolga Idikat, the process of sharing is manual, disorganised and informal.

EmlakJet's new system will allow agents to mark their listings as open to being shared allowing other agents to market and sell the homes and share in the reward. The portal does not set the commission split instead leaving it to the agent parties to come to an agreement.

The service is currently free to all EmlakJet customers with the portal eventually planning to charge its non-premium members for the service sometime in the future.

According to Idikat, some 500 offices have already shared their listings with the number expected to grow as the Turkish market continues to remain flat.

Istanbul-based EmlakJet was founded in 2006 and acquired by local online marketplace operator iLab in 2014, EmlakJet has become a traffic leader in its home market and has even launched an iBuying product.
